Good morning! We have continued to communicate with the Okaloosa County Director of Public Safety, Patrick Maddox, about the severe weather entering Okaloosa County today. The latest update shows that the storm conditions have adjusted with the weather now arriving in Okaloosa at 3 pm. 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀, 𝗢𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗪𝗢 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀. After consulting with the Okaloosa County Director of Public Safety, Patrick Maddox, Okaloosa Schools will dismiss one hour earlier than their regular release times tomorrow, Wednesday, April 10, due to severe weather that will enter Okaloosa County at approximately 4 p.m. and last until midnight. This decision was made with the safety of our students and employees in mind. Additionally, all after-school activities, including tutoring, athletics, and daycare, are canceled. Dismissal times are listed in the graphic below. Please contact your school if you have additional questions. School will resume as usual on Thursday, April 11. OCSD is working with County Emergency Management Officials who are monitoring a storm system moving into our area Wednesday afternoon.
Following weather updates from County Emergency Management Officials, the District will communicate any potential adjustments to Wednesday's school day or after school activities.
