National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)
National Junior Honor Society members possess the virtues of scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and service.
Students who are already members must maintain the same standards or they will be put on probation for a semester.
Any student transferring from another NJHS Chapter must provide a copy of a membership card or certificate to Mrs. Johnson.
Membership invitations for National Junior Honor Society are extended to 7th and 8th grade students who are found to be eligible when semester grades are checked toward the end of Februrary. A student must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.83 since entering Ruckel to be invited to join. Any student transferring from another NJHS Chapter must provide a copy of a membership card or certificate to Mrs. Tomassetti.
To maintain membership students must complete a required number of service hours each semester. Hours should be logged and turned in to Mrs. Johnson by the deadline. Print your Community Service Hours Log to keep track of your service.
Our advisors are Mrs. Johnson (lead faculty sponsor), and Mrs. Barton.
2024-2025 NJHS Officers: President Kennady Carter, Vice President Charlene Williams, Secretary Audrey Hefner, Treasurer Olivia White, and Eighth Grade Representatives Kim-My Nguyen and Mia McClenathan.
Congratulations to the new members of NJHS who were inducted on October 28, 2024 in the Ruckel Gym.
As a service organization, we have a major community and school service project each year.
Ruckel donated 1,923 non-perishable items during the 2024 annual food drive to benefit Sharing and Caring. A special thank you to Mrs. Broaddus's, Mrs. Nall's, and Mrs. McClay's homeroom classes as they were the top three contributing classes!
