National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

National Junior Honor Society members possess the virtues of scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and service.

Our advisors are Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Blando

Membership invitations for National Junior Honor Society are extended for the first time during the second semester of their 7th grade year at the end of January and then additional invitations are extended to newly qualified 8th grade students at the end of August. Invitations go home through their math class. A student must have a cumulative weighted grade point average of at least 3.83 since entering Ruckel to be invited to join.

To maintain membership, students must complete five service hours between October 1 and March 1 of their 8th grade year. Hours should be logged and turned in to Mrs. Johnson or Mrs. Blando by the deadline. There will be a log of community service hours online on Google Classroom.

Students who are already members must maintain the same academic and disciplinary standards, or they will be put on probation for a semester.

Any student transferring from another NJHS Chapter must provide a copy of a membership card or certificate to Mrs. Johnson at ronette.johnson@okaloosaschools.com

Fall induction is typically held at the end of October and Spring induction is typically held at the end of March or beginning of April.

As a service organization, we have a major community (Sharing and Caring Food Drive) and school service project (Valentine's Day Candy Grams to raise money for a school project) each year. There are also several campus clean up opportunities throughout the year.
