The Okaloosa County School District is proud to announce a major milestone for Lewis School with the grand opening of its brand-new football stadium. On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, Lewis School staff, district administrators, the City of Niceville, and the Niceville Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate this significant achievement. The event was attended by special guests, including former coaches and principals who have played key roles in the school’s history and success. A special thank you goes to the Haugen Family for their generous donation of the stadium’s goal posts.

Since its opening in 1971, Lewis School has shared the Niceville High School Football Stadium for its games. However, this year marks a new chapter as the Lewis Falcons proudly played their first home game in their very own stadium. The stadium is part of a major capital project that includes new LED stadium lights, visitor bleachers, a home stand with a press box, and a soon-to-be-installed scoreboard.

Superintendent Marcus Chambers, along with school and city leaders, students, and community members, gathered to celebrate this new stadium, which is set to enhance school spirit, student engagement, and community pride. The new stadium is a testament to the district’s continued commitment to providing top-notch facilities for students.

“We are thrilled to see this vision come to life for Lewis School,” said Superintendent Chambers. “This stadium will serve as a gathering place for students, families, and the community for years to come. It’s more than just a field—it’s a symbol of the support and dedication we have for our schools.”
