Information about the Prepaid Plan Scholarships:
The 2-Year Florida College Plan prepays tuition and local fees for 60 lower division semester credit hours at any of the 28 Florida Colleges. Although the Plan is designed to be used at a Florida College, the Plan can also be used at a State University and pro-rated accordingly.
Plans can also be used at in-state, out-of-state, public or private schools around the country; the value paid to other schools is the same as Florida Prepaid would have paid to a Florida school based on the student’s plan type. The student will have up to six years to use the plan.
The Plan cannot be transferred to another beneficiary.
Prepaid Plans also work great alongside Bright Futures Scholarships. In that case, the Prepaid Plan is generally used first as that plan only covers tuition and fees. Then Bright Futures will come into play to pay any remaining campus fees or other college expenses such as housing. Any remaining funds from Bright Futures would be dropped into the student’s account.
