The Okaloosa County School District is thrilled to join forces with the Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation, Okaloosa County Teachers Federal Credit Union, Walmart, Cox Communications, and Cumulus Media for the Annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive on Saturday, August 3. This essential event helps local students gather the tools they need for the upcoming school year. Last year, our community's collective efforts resulted in the collection of over $12,000 worth of supplies, benefiting over 10,000 students in 53 schools across Okaloosa and Walton counties. This remarkable achievement highlights the power of our community's generosity and commitment to education.
Marcus Chambers, Superintendent of Okaloosa County School District, expressed his gratitude, saying, "Any help you can give to allow our students to have their supplies would be greatly appreciated. I want to thank the Okaloosa County Teachers Federal Credit Union, Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation, Walmart, Cumulus Media, and the community at large for supporting our students and providing the school supplies they need to kick off the new school year and be successful throughout the year."
District and school staff will be on-site for the Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive, which will take place on Saturday, August 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the following Walmart locations:
Crestview (3351 S Ferdon Blvd)

Additionally, the state of Florida's back-to-school sales tax holiday will run from July 29 to August 11, 2024. If you can't make it to one of our Stuff the Bus events, donations can be dropped off at various local businesses hosting collection sites now through August 9. These locations include Bay Area Awards, Cox Communications, Emerald Coast Science Center, Fishbein Orthodontics, Ivy and Ale, Jo-Jo's Coffee and Goodness, Kluges Rucken Fidiculous BBQ, Mortgage Apex, Okaloosa County Teachers Federal Credit Union, The Legacy Cabinet Company, ServisFirst Bank, and Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
