A hardship appeal may be granted for cases in which the parent/guardian demonstrates profound hardship that significantly impacts the student's ability to succeed academically. The parent/guardian must request the electronic Hardship Appeal form by emailing COE@okaloosaschools.com with the following information:

  • School year you are requesting for

  • Child's first and last name

  • Child's date of birth

  • School that you want the child to attend

  • Grade level the child will be going into

  • Email associated with the Parent Portal that the child is linked to

A link to the Hardship Appeal application will be attached to your student account in the Parent Portal. The parent/guardian will receive an email notifying them that the form is available and may be asked to provide documentation of any circumstances that led to the hardship request. Athletic participation should not be the sole reason for a hardship appeal.

Hardship Appeals for the next school year are not accepted during the Controlled Open Enrollment (COE) period which is open January 15 through February 15. (The COE application window for the 2025-2026 school year has been extended to February 22nd due to unprecedented winter weather the Week of January 20th.)
