The faculty and staff of Lula J. Edge Elementary invite the community to join them in celebrating 100 years of public education on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. This historic milestone commemorates the land that George Nathey deeded to the Okaloosa Board of Public Instruction in 1924.
The Centennial Celebration will feature live music under trees planted by teachers and students over 50 years ago, refreshments in the cafeteria, and local food vendors. Visitors can explore historical displays, vintage yearbooks, and class photos, and enjoy oral history presentations from former students, faculty, and staff. Each grade level and department will highlight a specific decade in the school’s history through research, timelines, photographs, articles, and artifacts.
“Edge Elementary is more than just brick and mortar; it’s generations of families who have grown up here, and many have returned to send their own children. We hope the community will join us to honor our past and celebrate the future of Niceville’s original neighborhood school.” – Faculty and Staff of Edge Elementary.
