The Okaloosa County School District is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins September 15, and continues through October 15. This month-long observance honors the rich cultural contributions of Hispanic Americans and their impact on Florida’s history and success.
To mark the occasion, OCSD is hosting its annual door decorating, art, and essay contests, inviting students and staff to creatively express their appreciation for Hispanic heritage. These activities not only celebrate culture but also foster learning and engagement across all grade levels.

In addition to district-wide contests, students are encouraged to participate in the statewide art and essay competitions sponsored by Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis. These contests provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and reflect on the importance of Hispanic contributions to our state and nation.
“We’re excited to see our students and educators embrace this opportunity to learn, create, and celebrate,” said Superintendent Marcus Chambers. “Hispanic Heritage Month is a meaningful time to recognize the diverse voices that shape our communities and classrooms.”
