The Okaloosa County School Board approved Craig Miller as the Assistant Principal of Niceville High School and Kristin Gilmore as the Principal of Silver Sands School at the July 22, 2024, School Board meeting.
Craig Miller – Niceville High School Assistant Principal
Mr. Miller has served Okaloosa County for 20 years as an educator and coach. The last 15 years he has worked as a secondary administrator and is committed to the continued development, growth, and success of Niceville High School. He is thrilled to be working with the faculty, staff and community.
Miller lives in Niceville with his wife Becky who teaches at Edge Elementary School and their two daughters Makayla, a recent graduate of Niceville High School, and Maddie, who is a senior this year at Niceville High School.
Kristin Gilmore – Silver Sands School Principal
Kristin Gilmore was born and raised in Dover, Delaware. After high school, she enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves where she deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom, managed various programs, and served a supervisor for two career specialty areas before retiring in 2023.
Mrs. Gilmore earned her Bachelors in Community Health in 2009 from Delaware State University and her Masters in Secondary Teaching from Wesley College in 2011. Her teaching career in Delaware included positions in middle school Science at an alternative placement program, 9th grade Science at Dover High School, and the Independent Living Skills teacher for the Capital School District transition Program for students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. She earned her Master of Educational Leadership from Wilmington University in 2019; immediately prior to her husband’s military career bringing her family to Okaloosa County. Her career as an educator continued in Okaloosa where she has served as a teacher in Lewis school's Communication / Behavior / Socialization (CBS) and Emotional / Behavioral Disability (EBD) classrooms, Staffing Specialist for Plew and Longwood Elementary Schools, Dean of Lewis School, and most recently as the Assistant Principal of Lewis School.
Mrs. Gilmore is married to Dustin Gilmore who is an active-duty service member assigned to Eglin Air Force Base. They have four children, Parker, Harrison, Jackson, and Payton. She is excited to continue her career with the Okaloosa County School District as the Principal of Silver Sands.
