Carissa Ruschmeier

The Okaloosa County School Board approved Carissa Ruschmeier as the  Assistant Principal of Davidson Middle School at the August 14, 2023, School Board meeting.

Ms. Ruschmeier has not only been teaching in Okaloosa County for the last twenty years, but she is also a product of the district herself.  She graduated from Crestview High School in 1998 and then went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of West Florida.  She later received her Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington.  She has taught 9th and 10th grade English and English Honors, as well as Advanced Placement Literature, Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) General Paper, and Credit Recovery.  Ms. Ruschmeier started her career at Fort Walton Beach High School and has spent the last 19 years as a Bulldog at Crestview High School.  She has one son, Brayden, who graduated from Crestview last year, and they live just over the state line in Florala, Alabama. She is looking forward to moving right across the field to Davidson Middle School in her new role as a proud Panther.
