The purpose of the dress and appearance (uniform dress code) is to enhance school safety, maintain school discipline, promote attention to detail, and instill community values. Uniforms give students a sense of belonging and team spirit. Wearing it says we’re all in this together! Additionally, wearing a uniform can improve learning by reducing distraction, sharpening the focus on schoolwork, and making the classroom a more suitable environment for learning. A school uniform teaches students to dress smartly and take pride in their appearance.
Parents are expected to be the primary monitors of the uniform policy. Please help us by ensuring your child is in uniform each day. Uniforms are to be worn from the first day of school until the final day of classes, unless students and parents are otherwise notified. Only approved uniform items may be worn to school and school activities.
Appropriate uniform items consist of:

Non-STEMM outerwear is permitted only if the temperature is below 50℉. Students are prohibited from wearing outerwear that is not STEMM-branded while in school buildings or classrooms. However, they may wear such items (i.e. winter coats) when moving outdoors between buildings. Students may wear STEMM-branded outerwear with appropriate school colors and logos indoors.
Hats cannot be worn at school except when allowed on specified spirit days. Winter hats may be worn outside when moving between buildings when the weather is below 50℉.
Hair color should be within naturally occurring color tones.
In the event that the school identifies items of clothing, accessories, buttons, or jewelry that are not set forth in this dress code, but are inappropriate or unsafe, the school may prohibit such items. Any form of dress or grooming which is distractive or disruptive will not be permitted.
