Read Across America Reading Challenge

Given Dr. Suess' impact on the reading world, his birthday (March 2) was declared Read Across America Day. This also commences Read Across America Week and Read Across America Month.

Monday, March 4th: Grab a Great Book and Read, Read, Read
Take time to enjoy reading. "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."

Tuesday, March 5th: School Kindness Challenge

Students will be challenged to pass an inspirational note to a student on campus to brighten a day! "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not!"

Wednesday, March 6th: Wonderful Words Wednesday

Wear a shirt with a positive message. Try your best to show a growth mindset, while encouraging others to do the same. "If things start happening, don't worry, don't stew. Just go right along and you'll start happening too."

Thursday, March 7th: Celebrate Diversity

Reflect on your family's traditions and culture. Bring in a book that represents you to share with your class. "Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!

Friday, March 8th: Tacky Tourist

Dress up like you're going on vacation, because...READING TAKES YOU PLACES!! "You're off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So....get on your way!"
