Hello 5th grade Marlin families. We look forward to seeing you at tonight’s showing of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Here are some reminders to ensure we have a great movie night:
1- Doors open at 6pm (only gate entrance will be at back of school)
2- Movie starts at 630pm
3- Movie ends at 825pm, plan on picking up your student around that time
4- No cost to enter movie
5- Pizza, popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase (Cash only)
6- Families and siblings welcomed (non-DMS siblings must be accompanied by parent)
7- Encouraged to bring lawn chairs/blankets for comfortable seating

We recently presented Destin Middle School with their A+ Plaque recognizing an "A" school grade for the 2024–25 school year—marking their 22nd consecutive "A" and an impressive 23rd overall! Destin Middle continues to set the standard, demonstrating excellence across all areas of student achievement.
During the visit, we also had the honor of presenting Years of Service coins to several dedicated employees. A special moment included trading coins with SRO Deputy Davis, a gesture of mutual respect and appreciation. We were also thrilled to greet some of our amazing bus drivers, whose commitment to student safety and support is deeply valued.
Congratulations to the students, staff, families, and community members who make Destin Middle School a shining example of success. We’re proud of you and excited to celebrate more achievements across the District this semester!

We wish to communicate the attached alternate schedule we will use Tuesday and Wednesday (9/2-9/3) next week when students take the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) PM 1. We ask that you encourage your child to do the best they can on these tests as they assist teachers in modifying instruction according to student needs. We hope you have a wonderful 3 day weekend. Destin Middle School will be holding our first Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) 1st General Membership Meeting tomorrow, 8/28, at 9:05 am. We ask that you arrive by 8:55 am to be escorted to the meeting.
Whether you're already a member, or considering becoming a member, please come out to the meeting and hear what our PTSA is all about. As a reminder, parents that do not arrive by 8:55 am to be escorted to the meeting will need to check in through the front office.
