This course is designed to provide a basic overview of current business and information systems and trends, and to introduce students to fundamental skills required for today's business and academic environments. Emphasis is placed on developing fundamental computer skills. The intention of this course is to prepare students to be successful both personally and professionally in an information based society. Advanced Information Technology includes the exploration and use of: databases, the internet, spreadsheets, presentation applications, management of personal information and email, word processing and document manipulation, HTML, webpage design, and the integration of these programs using software that meets industry standards. The Think Phyton high school credit course introduces students to the programming language of Phyton. Phyton is the leading language used today from game coding to artificial intelligence coding. Learning Phyton is ideal for beginners because it is both powerful and easy to learn. In this project-based course, students will learn the fundamentals of Phyton code and then transition into more complicated programming tasks. Along the way, students will be exposed to Phyton’s amazing tools that can help turn data into information. This course can be the gateway into the study of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (forecasted to be a top growing job for next 10 years). Students will have the opportunity to earn a Phyton Coding Apprentice Industry Certification.
