District’s Mental Health/Resiliency Focus for September

Building resilient students is a top priority for the OCSD. With the implementation of Resiliency Education, Florida is on the forefront to ensuring all students have the necessary skills and resources to see them through life’s challenges. Ask your child about their Resiliency Education lessons each month.  This month we want to highlight Suicide Prevention and 988-the crisis hotline.  Check out https://www.fldoe.org/mental-health/ for additional resources.

“Resiliency Education kicks off this month, the first monthly focus is Resiliency and Suicide Prevention.   Note that 988 is the new crisis line number. Resilient people look forward with a feeling of optimism and are able to bounce back from setbacks with ease. Talk to your teacher and counselor about ways to build resiliency.”
