OCSD Digital Media Student Ambassadors NextGen Communicators

The Okaloosa County School District is proud to announce the launch of the Student Ambassador Program, NextGen Communicators, an exciting opportunity for high school students in grades 10–12 at Baker, Laurel Hill, Crestview, Niceville, Fort Walton Beach, and Choctawhatchee High Schools to become the voice of their campuses. Through this program, Student Ambassadors will serve as digital storytellers, capturing and sharing the vibrant life of their schools through photos, videos, reels, and news stories. Working directly with the District Communications Department and the Digital Media and Communications Specialist, ambassadors will help highlight student achievements, school events, and community engagement across OCSD platforms.

Throughout the school year, ambassadors will also receive special assignments and projects that support district-wide communication goals. This initiative offers students a unique chance to build real-world media skills, gain professional experience, and make a meaningful impact in their school communities.

Responsibilities of Student Ambassadors include:

  • Submitting high-quality digital content for district use

  • Collaborating with the OCSD Communications team

  • Completing assigned media and communications tasks

  • Representing their school with professionalism and creativity

Superintendent Marcus Chambers emphasized the importance of the program, stating, “This is a great opportunity for students to gain real-world experience and showcase what is happening on their school campus. Not only will they be developing skills that translate directly into future careers, but they will also be highlighting the incredible stories that make Okaloosa schools so special.” The NextGen Communicators Program is more than just a leadership role—it is a platform for students to amplify the stories that matter most in Okaloosa County.
