Richbourg students had a wonderful time participating in our schoolwide egg hunt! This engaging activity provided more than just fun. It supported important learning experiences for all students. During the egg hunt, students practiced following multi-step directions, problem-solving, and critical thinking as they searched for hidden eggs. The activity also encouraged social interaction, cooperation, and turn-taking, helping to build communication and teamwork skills. For many students, especially those in exceptional education programs, hands-on activities like this support sensory exploration, attention to task, and goal-directed behavior in a meaningful and motivating way. We are proud to provide opportunities that combine joy with purposeful learning while creating lasting memories for our students.

Richbourg Prom 2026 – Hawaiian “Lilo and Stitch” Theme
Our students had an amazing time at prom celebrating friendship, music, and unforgettable memories. This year’s Hawaiian “Lilo and Stitch” theme brought bright colors, tropical décor, and a fun island atmosphere to the event.
Students enjoyed dancing, taking photos, and spending time together in a joyful and welcoming environment. We are so proud of our students and thankful to everyone who helped make this special event possible.
School Board Member Mr. Tim Bryant spent time connecting with students and celebrating during prom. Moments like these highlight the joy, support, and sense of community that make our events so meaningful for everyone involved.

OCSD Family—be sure to set your clocks back one hour before going to bed on Saturday night, November 2. We “fall back” at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 3. Enjoy the extra hour of rest, and we’ll see everyone bright and early on Monday!

Back to School Savings Alert!

Did you know Florida’s Back to School Sales Tax Holiday is now permanent and runs the entire month of August? From August 1–31, families can save on essential school items tax-free — including clothing, school supplies, learning aids, and even personal computers!

The final bell of the school year is almost here! Tomorrow, Thursday, May 29, marks the last day of school for students in the Okaloosa County School District. All OCSD schools will follow an early dismissal schedule, and lunch will still be served before students head off to start their summer break! Let’s finish strong and celebrate a year of hard work, growth, and achievement. We’re proud of each and every student, and we wish you a safe, fun, and restful summer!

Richbourg School Stakeholders, Due to accommodations that must be made for our graduating senior this year. The 2025 Richbourg School graduation ceremony will be limited to 50 guests and held in the multipurpose room on campus. Required school staff, district staff as well as immediate family and school sponsors will be much of the guests in attendance. We will allow limited seating to guests outside those mentioned that must RSVP through Ms. Vaneesa Harrington in advance. The Okaloosa County School District has been made aware of scam phone calls targeting parents. In these calls, individuals falsely claim that a student has an outstanding lunch balance and instructs the parent to "press 1" to make a payment immediately. Please be advised: • The Okaloosa County School District does not contact families by phone to request payment in this manner. • Any legitimate communication regarding student meal accounts would come through official district channels. • In the recently reported case, the scammer provided incorrect student information and used what appeared to be a local phone number, which may have been spoofed. If you receive a suspicious call, do not provide personal or payment information. Instead, hang up and contact your child's school or the district's Food Services Department directly for verification. Thank you for helping us keep our families informed and protected.

Prom is this Friday, April 4th! Parents may attend from 10:30 AM - 10:50 AM. Students, dress in your finest or casual attire, no shorts please. We look forward to celebrating with you in our Winter Wonderland.

𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 Next Thursday, March 13, is the last day of the 3rd 9-week grading period. Spring Break begins on Friday, March 14, and continues through Friday, March 21. Monday, March 24, is a Teacher Workday. Students return for the 4th and final 9-week grading period of the 2024-2025 school year on Tuesday, March 25. We hope everyone has a safe and restful week off!

From guiding students through their educational journeys to providing a listening ear and valuable advice, our counselors are always there to help. Your hard work and compassion truly make a difference in the lives of our students.
