Programs
The Okaloosa County Public Schools Foundation offers many programs which connect volunteer and financial resources to enrich the educational opportunities for all individuals within Okaloosa County.
Take Stock in Children - One of the primary focuses of the Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation is the Take Stock in Children Scholarship Program. Take Stock is a unique and innovative program that provides four-year scholarships to deserving low-income youth who may not attend college because of their family's financial situation.
Grants - $500 Classroom and Professional Development Mini-Grants will be awarded to up to 20 teachers during the 2015-16 school year. Classroom mini-grants address one or more of the STEM initiatives at any grade level and Professional Development mini-grants are awarded in any subject area, at any grade level.
Stuff the Bus - The Okaloosa County School District partners with United Way Emerald Coast for Stuff the Bus, providing needed school supplies to local children for the upcoming school year.
Coats for Kids - The Okaloosa County School District participates in the United Way's Coats for Kids program which ensures that every child who needs a winter coat receives one.
Teacher of the Year and Educational Support Person of the Year Awards - The Foundation is a proud sponsor of the Teacher of the Year (TOY) and Educational Support Person of the Year (ESPY) awards. Each year winners receive a cash donation as awarded by the Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation Board of Directors.
Volunteer - Our schools frequently rely on parent volunteers for a variety of help, from special projects to fund-raising to helping out with art or music programs and so on. Our volunteers have enriched the school experience for thousands of our students, enabling us to offer opportunities that would never have been possible without their help.
