VPK Registration opened January 1st! Okaloosa County VPK schools include: Southside Primary School, Mary Esther Elementary School, Walker Elementary School, Northwood Elementary School, Riverside Elementary School, Edwins Elementary School, Bob Sikes Elementary School, Okaloosa STEMM Academy, and Longwood Elementary School. Before registering at one of the school sites listed above, you must obtain your child's VPK Certificate of Eligibility. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and spots at each site are limited.

Destin Elementary School’s first ever STEM Gingerbread House building competition, hosted by the American Institute of Architects was a big success ! The kids were so creative!
A line of storms is expected to move into our area overnight and continue through tomorrow evening. We anticipate heavy rainfall, which may lead to brief flash flood conditions and pooling on roadways.
At this time, we do not expect any changes to school start times or dismissal. However, we encourage everyone to exercise caution during your commute. If your child is late or misses school due to weather in your area, please provide a note when they return.

- Please take only your child out of the Cafeteria (No friends please)
- Bring your child back to the Cafeteria to join their class by the end of their lunch time.

Destin ES is looking for people who have time to substitute, volunteer or be a tutor! If you are interested in how to apply for any of these, please email Mrs. Meyer and we can get you signed up. We are also in need of a sponsor for the Lego Club and the Drone Team after school. These both meet weekly after school. If this is something you may be interested in, please email Mrs. Meyer for more information!
Beginning Tuesday, September 3, we welcome families to come on campus to eat lunch with your students in any of our outside areas. Please sign in through the front office and meet your student at the cafeteria. Only your child may leave the cafeteria to eat lunch with you and we ask that you bring them back to the cafeteria to meet their class at the end of lunch time.
