The Dolphin Report

October sure made a splash here at Destin Elementary! It’s hard to believe we’ve already launched into the 2nd quarter — time is swimming right along. This month, our school placed a strong focus on the character trait of honesty, and we are so proud of our students for showing what it means to be true to themselves and others. A big congratulations to our Dolphins of the Month who were recognized as outstanding role models of honesty!

We also packed in some amazing experiences outside the classroom! Our students enjoyed hands-on learning during field trips to the pumpkin patch, the fire station, and the beach. We are especially grateful to our incredible community for helping us host our very first Career Fair for 3rd and 4th grade — the excitement on our students’ faces said it all!

Thank you to all the families who supported our Change for Children Campaign to help local children in need. The donations are being counted now, and we can’t wait to announce the winning class soon! We also had a terrific turnout for National Walk to School Day, where Deputy Karla taught us important bike and pedestrian safety.

And of course, we ended the month with a barnyard full of fun as Destin Elementary transformed into Old MacDonald’s Farm for Halloween! Our students made the cutest farm animals, and our staff played the part of farmers — it was a joyful day for everyone.

As we swim into November, we have so many exciting things to look forward to! Our 2nd graders are preparing a special patriotic performance to honor Veteran’s Day, and we will proudly recognize the veterans within our school and community. We can’t wait to welcome families for our always-popular Thanksgiving lunches — a wonderful opportunity to gather and celebrate together. And of course, one of the most magical nights of the year — our Fall Festival — is coming up on November 7th! You won’t want to miss an evening full of fun, friends, and family memories. Be sure to check out the latest Dolphin Report for more details.

Thank you for your continued support in helping our Dolphins learn, grow, and shine every single day. Here’s to another great month ahead!
