Members of the 96th Communications Squadron presenting a Cyber Awareness Course

Shalimar Elementary was proud to welcome members of the 96th Communications Squadron from Eglin Air Force Base as part of October’s Cyber Awareness Month celebrations. The squadron presented an engaging and educational session to our 3rd through 5th grade students, teaching them the importance of staying safe online.

Each student received a special “Cyber Detective” badge, complete with a space to write their name, a personalized “Code Name,” and an “Agent Number.” The badge also featured a Cyber Awareness Checklist on the back, helping students remember key safety tips from the presentation.

To make the experience even more memorable, students clipped their badges to their shirts and, after completing the session, earned a star sticker to certify their status as official Cyber Detectives!
