Amy Klugh Named Principal of Shalimar Elementary School

Congratulations to Amy Klugh on being named as the Principal of Shalimar Elementary School!

Mrs. Amy Klugh is a product of the Okaloosa County school system attending Wright Elementary School, Bruner Junior High School, and Fort Walton Beach High School. She began her teaching career at Oak Hill Elementary in 1997 where she was named Teacher of the Year for 2003 and was a Top 3 County Teacher of the Year Finalist. From 1997 - 2011, Mrs. Klugh served Okaloosa County students at Oak Hill Elementary, Eglin Elementary, and Kenwood Elementary Schools before being named Assistant Principal of Bluewater Elementary School in 2011. She became the Principal of Bluewater Elementary School in 2015.

Mrs. Klugh was named the Okaloosa County Elementary Principal of the Year and the Okaloosa County Principal of the Year, representing Okaloosa County at the state level in 2020-2021. It is with this experience that she serves as a mentor to new and future administrators through our Level 2 program. She completed her bachelor’s degree from Huntingdon College in 1996 and her Educational Leadership degree in 2000 from the University of West Florida. Mrs. Klugh also earned her National Board Certification in Literacy: Reading-Language Arts for Early and Middle Childhood in 2012. This past October, Mrs. Klugh was named a Huntingdon College Alumni Loyalty Award recipient, and she currently serves as the Honorary Commander for the 87EWS in the 350 Spectrum Warfare Wing on Eglin AFB.
