Okaloosa
County School District Officials have been in communication with
Okaloosa Emergency Management concerning the freezing temperatures
expected to enter Okaloosa County this evening and into tomorrow,
Wednesday, January 17. According to Public Safety Director Patrick
Maddox, the latest information from the National Weather Service
indicates that while temperatures will be below freezing, icy roads are
not anticipated, and temperatures will warm to above freezing throughout
the day. School will be in session tomorrow, following the regular
schedule. Schools are taking precautions by moving outdoor activities
inside, and it is suggested that students layer their clothing for
warmth.
