Important Announcement

Friday, August 12 was the final day that parents were able to walk students to their classrooms.  We appreciate your support in helping your children learn where their classrooms are located!

Beginning on Monday, August 15, we will begin our normal routine for morning arrival.  The only gates that will be open for student arrival are the gates at the car rider line and the gate at the bus ramp.  All students arriving in a car must be dropped off in the car rider line.  You will not be permitted to park along Gaffney Road or any open parking space and walk your child to the campus.  To help ensure student safety, please do not stop along Gaffney Road and let students out of the car to walk to the campus on their own.  The only students that are permitted to enter the campus at the bus ramp are bus riders and School Age Care.  If your child arrives to school after 8:15 they are considered tardy, and you will need to accompany them to the front office to sign in.

Also beginning on Monday, August 15, any student who arrives to school from 7:45 to 8:00 will report directly to the cafeteria, even if they are not eating breakfast.  Staff members will be in the cafeteria to supervise these students until the classroom doors open at 8:00, when they will be released.

On Monday, August 15 the walker dismissal option for 3rd/4th grade students and their siblings will be available. A permission form was sent home with all 3rd/4th grade car rider students. This option would alleviate a parent from having to wait in the car line! Once we receive your completed form we will change your student(s) mode of transportation.

In the event that your child needs to change their afternoon method of transportation, you must submit that change of transportation request in writing.  The best option is to send in a note with your child to give to their teacher.  We will accept emails as a written request for transportation, but those requests must be made prior to 1:30.  Please email your child’s teacher and our attendance secretary Mrs. Wilson.  Phone calls will not be accepted for transportation changes.

2:10 is the last time that parents will be permitted to check out their children early from school, unless there is an emergency.

Parents will be invited to begin eating lunch with their children in the cafeteria on Wednesday, August 24.

Finally, we would like to invite all of our parents to attend our Curriculum Night on Thursday, August 18.  Please check the flyer that was sent home today to find your grade level time and location.

Thank you for a great first week of school!  We are looking forward to a wonderful year at Eglin Elementary!
